Uniform & Equipment
UNIFORM
Wearing school uniform:
- Promotes equality and a common identity
- Supports safeguarding through clear identification
- Develops a formal 'ready for work' mindset
A uniform worn correctly is an indicator of pride in the school both while in school and on journeys to and from home. The school expects students to wear full school uniform at all times as set out in the Uniform Policy, which can be viewed under the Policies section of the website.
In summary:
- Blazer and Tie at all times.
- Shoes - lots of school shoes are bought sensibly towards the end of the summer break to allow for growth over the holiday. Please check that they will conform - there are diagrams to help within the uniform policy.
- Piercings - the rule is for a small, single, plain stud in the earlobe of each ear (no hoops). Getting additional piercings that are not healed in time for the start of term means spending time in isolation until the item can be removed - discreet temporary clear plastic inserts are permitted.
- Optional plain black v-neck jumper (worn with, not instead of the blazer). Sweatshirts are not acceptable.
- Plain outdoor coat, no large logos. No hoodies, zipped or otherwise.
- No visible body art, please ensure holiday tattoos are removed.
- Clear nail varnish may be worn but fingernails must be short and nail extensions of any kind are not permitted.
- Jewellery (except a watch and the single plain stud in each earlobe) is not permitted.
- Skirts must be unrolled with the skirt band clearly visible. Students will be asked to adjust skirts in order to ensure that this standard is met accordingly.
